    Influence of high-level cognitive goals on gaze patterns: Yarbus revisited

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    While accomplished without conscious effort, visual perception is a complex dynamic process that unfolds over time. The uneven  distribution of cone photosensors in the human visual system re- quires that the eyes be moved frequently to support perception.  Making over 100,000 rapid eye movements daily, the oculomotor system is central to the process of visual perception.
