Title:

    Extraction of characteristic postures in a dance by statistical analysis of a database of motion data

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    In the field of dance motion analysis, development of the technique for extraction of characteristic postures peculiar to each dance number is needed [Hachimura 2006]; extracted postures can be used as the indexes for the retrieval of motion data. In this study, the authors suggest a novel method for extraction of characteristic postures from the motion data of a dance number; the information of uniqueness of the dance number given by the statistical analysis of a database including motion data of plural dance numbers is used in the extraction process.
