Abstract:


    Integral Photography (IP) is a technique based on photography [M.G.Lippmann 1908] and is one of the ideal methods for autostereoscopic display. The most remarkable feature of the IP display is that it can easily display Light Field [Isaksen et al. 2000] through a microlens array. The IP display also has a feature that allows motion parallax in the transversal and longitudinal directions. Many IP displays have been developed, some displays have motion parallax in only one direction, whereas others displays have a long viewing distance (about a meter). Since most IP displays are for general use, they have the same number of rays in any direction. As the viewing area for mobile use is restricted, we need to design appropriate IP displays. We developed a mobile-size autostereoscopic display based on the principle of IP, and an interactive content for the display. The display size is 5 inches.
