[b. 1942, d. 1975]

Bui Toung Phong invented  the Phong reflection model and the Phong shading interpolation method, techniques widely used in computer graphics. He published the description of his algorithms in his 1973 PhD dissertation at the University of Utah and a 1975 paper.
