Abstract:


    Integral photography (IP) display is an autostereoscopic displays; it produces images that appear 3D without any special viewing device, and it can reproduce 4D light fields in real space. Because IP requires a large amount of information, dual IP displays have been studied to make the depth of “pop” of 3D images greater [S.Min et al. 2003]. Additionally, bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) image representation by IP display has been studied [Koike and Naemura 2007] , but the depth of BRDF images is restricted to being near the display plane. We developed a 3D display that uses dual IP displays to create semi-transparent and BRDF images.
