Abstract:
The course introduces the key aspects of direction field and vector field generation on surfaces. These fields play an increasingly important role in computer graphics and geometry processing. We provide an extensive guide to their use in practical situations, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the competing approaches.
Additional Information:
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisites: Some prior experience with triangle mesh representation of geometric models and a working knowledge of vector calculus, linear algebra, and general computer graphics fundamentals. Some familiarity with the basics of differential geometry and numerical optimization are helpful but not required.
Presentation Language: English
Intended Audience: Researchers and practitioners in computer graphics, geometry processing, signal processing, and visualization.
