Abstract:

    Prerequisites
Enjoying taking things apart. Some experience with programming.

    Topics
Basic electronics (electrical principles, circuits, components, tools); using micro-controllers (programming, input/output); using sensors (analog-to-digital conversion); serial communication between devices; designing output that reacts to sensor information; the future of interactive art.

    Description
This course guides participants through the process of building physical interfaces for interaction with screen-based or installation work. It covers five principal topics: electronics, micro-controllers, input, serial communication, and output. Construction of a real interface project demonstrates each topic.
