    SIGGRAPH 1990

    Summagraphics Corporation exhibits its full line of input and output devices including: SummaSketch II, and recently introduced SummaSketch II with Animator template, Microgrid III, Summagraphics LCL, and Surface Lit Microgrid. Also shown are the Houston Instrument JetPro printer/plotter, the Image Maker desktop pen plotter, the DMP-60 DL Series of drafting plotters, and the LDS 4000 wide-format scanner.

    Summagraphics Corporation is exhibiting its full line of computer graphics tablets ranging in sizes 6″ x 9″ up to 42″ x 60″ including the industry standard SummaSketch. Products are demonstrated in CAD/CAE, desktop publishing, and presentation graphics on a variety of platforms.

    Summagraphics presents its full line of computer graphics tablets in a variety of applications including CAD, desktop publishing and presentation graphics. On display is the Bit Pad Plus a 12″ x 12″ active area tablet for IBM™ PC, Macintosh™ II and SE. Also featured are the SummaSketch Series in 6″ x 9″, 12″ x 12″, and 12″ x 18″ and the Microgrid II a high accuracy, large active area graphics tablet.

    Summagraphics Corporation presents its full line of graphics tablets and electronic mice in a variety of applications including CAD/CAM, mapping, desktop publishing, and presentation graphics. The MM Series features tablet sizes 6″x9,” 12″x12″ and 12″x18″ with up to 1000 lines per inch selectable resolution. Microgrid II combines high resolution, accuracy and reliability with ergonomic design in five sizes ranging from 17″x24″ to 42″x60.”

    Summagraphics will be exhibiting the MM 1812, a high resolution, superior reliability graphics tablet with an 18″ x 12″ active area; Microgrid II, a durable and lightweight tablet with high-resolu- tion, accuracy and reliability in active area sizes from 17″ x 24″ up to 42″ x 60″; new low cost SummaMouse with driver/menu software; and the SummaSketch, an IBM PC-compatible graphics tablet that enhances the PC capabilities. MacTablet turns the Macintosh into a real graphics workstation.

    Summagraphics will be exhibiting a variety of products: TXHE MM Series/Bit Pad Two digitizing tablets are high performance with the flexibility of a built-in mouse; the Microgrid Series high resolution tablets feature an array of host programmable functions; the SummaMouse is a low-cost, high resolution optical, digital mouse. The two new personal computer products include the Mac Tablet that turns the Apple Macintosh into a graphics workstation and the SummaSketch which is IBM PC compatible.

    MM Series MM Series digitizers are designed for use with today’s lower-cost terminals, graphics work- stations and personal computers. MM’s can perform all cursor steering, menu picking and graphics digitizing tasks with the added flexibility of a built-in mouse. The product line features two ergonomically-designed tablets. SummaMouse: SummaMouse combines solid state optics with state-of-the-art micro- processor technology to deliver the most reliable, user-responsive digital mouse on the market. The ease of use, speed of interaction and low cost make Summa Mouse the ideal cursor steering device for menu selection, graphics and text editing. Microgrid: Microgrid Series is a new family of high-resolution, high-accuracy digitizers that combines the latest technology with innovative design to offer significant improvements in accuracy, appearance, compatibility, versatility, reliability and price.

This comprehensive, fully compatible product offering includes the new, highly reliable, optical SummaMouse, MM Series digitizers and a new full family of high resolution, high accuracy digitizers. With these new products, Summagraphics now offers the broadest spectrum of graphic input devices available from any manufacturer.

    SIGGRAPH 1979

    BIT PAD ONE – New low-cost digitizer for the OEM and hobbyist markets. This 11 x 11 inch digitizer has all the features of higher priced digitizers at a fraction of their cost. THE INTELLIGENT DIGITIZER – An extremely reliable product which may be used in all forms of graphic data entry and menu selection. ID’s are available in sizes from 11 x 11 inches to 42 x 60 inches. SUMMAGRID – Will be introduced at the Siggraph show. The Summagrid is a high resolution (0.001 “) high accuracy(± 0.003”) digitizer system which may be fully backlit for applications requiring high accuracy such as cartography. The electronics is completely compatible with the existing Intelligent Digitizer output format, thus -allowing current ID users to easily upgrade to the Summagrid without any software or hardware interfacing problems. DATAGRID II – A series of computer-aided drafting and digitizing systems designed specifically to meet the requirements of off-line digitizing and preprocessing as well as stand-alone drafting systems. The computer- aided drafting system consists of a microprocessor with 32K memory, dual flexible disc, a graphic CRT, a 36 x 48 inch tablet and a complete FORTRAN based interactive drafting software package which is entirely menu driven. This system is priced at $29,000 and may be expanded to include a variety of output plotters for finished plots as well as a variety of storage mediums including a hard disc and nine-track tape options. Additionally, the graphic CRT may be replaced with a full color CRT allowing the user to create drawings in a variety of colors, editing them and previewing them before creating a final plot for his application. The price range of the Datagrid II Systems, depending on configuration, is $15,000 to $49,000.
