Submitted by Bonnie Mitchell Sept 2025

I was part of the University of Oregon team and remember working on an Amiga to hand paint frames of our segment of the animation.  We hired a nude model to video tape her walking up steps carrying a bowl, like in the Muybridge segment we were given, so we could rotoscope this part of the animation.  She showed up and was very drunk and had chocolate all over her face but she was still able to jump off the steps without hurting herself.  We worked on this animation for weeks with very little sleep and then the final week it was due, I gave sleep completely.  It was completed the day before it was due but FedEx was unable to guarantee it would arrive on time.  Therefore I needed to drive it to the airport 2 hours away.  But first I needed to stop at Tektronix to have them put it on a betacam tape because our school did not have the equipment.  When I arrived and the guys at Tektronix viewed the material that they were going to transfer and they chuckled and told me the film was very (hesitation)… academic.  I was baffled so they explained that they rarely saw nudity at Tektronix.  Who would have thought Muybridge would be considered porn?  Anyway, I drove the video tape to the airport to send it to SIGGRAPH while hallucinating and seeing double because I had not slept for so long.
