Artist Statement:

ChoreoFin is a kinetic dress inspired by aquatic creatures and mythological beings such as mermaids and amphibian humanoids. Its fins, made from nano-metal-coated fabric, shimmer with multicolored textures and are animated by fifteen shape-memory alloy actuators. Each actuator bends in three directions using BioMetal fibers, enabling smooth, expressive motion. The fins respond to nearby viewers—freezing or trembling if approached suddenly, or gently swaying as if breathing beneath the surface. ChoreoFin reflects both biological function and ornamental beauty, subtly merging elements of living forms and wearable design.
