    SIGGRAPH 1991

    VPL Research is the leading developer of virtual reality software and hardware systems. New products from VPL in 1991 include the higher performance RB2 Model2 Virtual Reality System, a complete one or two-user virtual reality development system; two EyePhone models including a high resolution EyePhone HRX, and the Spatial Tracking System. New software tools allow for translation of three-dimensional databases, realistic rendering, and fast virtual reality animation. Other VPL products include the AudioSphere, a three-dimensional sound spatialization system, the DataGlove, and the DataSuit.

    VPL Research has pioneered the fields of virtual reality (VR) and visual programming languages. Founded in 1985 by CEO Jaron Lanier and President Jean-Jacques Grimaud, VPL is devoted to bringing farreaching, revolutionary technology to the marketplace at an accelerated pace. VPL’s commercial and leadership success has resulted in the RB2 System, Dataglove, and Eyephone VR products.
