Title:

    Realtime simulation of an hourglass based on granular dynamics

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    There has been a method that simulates granular objects using discrete element method on GPU in realtime. However, the method does not simulates the frictional force between particles and therefore the particles behave as if they were a fluid. In this paper, we implemented frictional force into the GPU-based granular simulation, and simulated the dynamics of granular objects in a hourglass, that cannot be simulated in the former method.
