Description:

    Foreward:

It is our pleasure to present this Exhibition of Computer Graphics, especially because of the world wide attention now being paid to computer graphics as the most advanced media of art and communication.

Through the generous collaboration of the SIGGRAPH ’83 Art Show Committee, it has become possible to present many works of high aesthetic value which will be introduced at the Siggraph ’83 Exhibition of Computer Art and have never before been seen in Japan. And the works of several fine Japanese computer graphics artists will also be featured to make this a truly international event.

We are also pleased to present many interesting works of computer graphics animation in the video theater areas. These works have been collected from many of the leading commercial production companies, research laboratories and artists in both Japan and the United States to give the video theater a very comprehensive program. The two art games that have been especially developed for this exhibition are designed to provide a unique opportunity for people to participate in the event while learning about computer graphics. We sincerely hope that this will promote understanding about computer graphics among the general public and stimulate interest in the field.

We are very grateful to all those who have given valuable cooperation and assistance to make this exhibition possible.
