Bio:
Tammy Mike Laufer was born in Tel-Aviv (1960) and lives and works in Israel. An international contemporary digital media artist, she works in 3D digital drawing, video art, and photography. A graduate from “Technion,” the Israeli Institute for Technology in the department of Graphic Design, she has continued her educational program for designers at Sivan College, Tel Aviv. Engaged with digital media for two decades, Laufer’s digital media works were exhibited in Museums, art projects in Greece, Japan, the US, Portugal, Lithuania, Warsaw, Israel and more. She participated in a collateral event at the 53 Venice Biennale, Italy. A journey over two decades reveals her works, ‘TAMMY MIKE LAUFER – Artist Book’ represents 20 years of her digital creations. In 2012, Laufer founded ‘44 DEGREES,’ the online art magazine dedicated to the promotion of contemporary Israeli artists. She remains its developer, designer, art director, producer, editor, builder, and she also maintains the website. ‘44 DEGREES’ is archived by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem archive room and Tel Aviv Museum Library Laufer’s art deals with issues which are often social, not always pleasant. Pain, the female body, life cycles, the Holocaust, social protest. This is her way to express herself – the way she deals with various topics. The unique technique which she uses to create her three-dimensional computerized drawing, is the style of her work and her handwriting.
