Matthew Kiefer is a Lighting Supervisor at Image Engine, where he has spent more than six years contributing to a wide slate of high-profile film and television projects. His credits at Image Engine include Kraven the Hunter, Alien: Romulus, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Foundation Season 2, Moon Knight, The Book of Boba Fett, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Snowpiercer Season 2, The Mandalorian Season 2, Project Power, Mulan, Carnival Row, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Game of Thrones Season 8. Matthew began his lighting career at DreamWorks Animation, where he spent nearly four years building lighting rigs and developing cross-department tools before moving on to sequence lighting. He continued his journey at Reel FX, followed by freelance work in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and later joined Sony Pictures Imageworks on projects like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Love, Death & Robots. With a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Effects and Technical Direction from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Matthew combines artistic sensibility with technical precision, building tools and templates to enhance creativity within the lighting team while ensuring consistency and production efficiency.
