Dr. Elin Carstensdottir is an Assistant Professor in the Computational Media department at Baskin School of Engineering at UC Santa Cruz, where she leads the Interaction Dynamics lab. Her research explores an array of topics including intelligent virtual agents and virtual humans, video game design and development, user experience, social simulation, and interactive narrative for games. Elin is dedicated to studying and developing AI-augmented design and authoring tools for both academic and industry professionals within these domains, as well as developing research software and games aimed at education, health, and research. Elin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
