Eli Holder is a data designer, researcher, and leading expert on equitable information design. His practice, “3 is a pattern” (3iap.com), specializes in fair analysis and persuasive visualization, partnering with civically engaged clients to tell compelling data stories about public health, education, and social impact. Eli’s research and writing focus on the intersection of psychology and visualization design, looking at the not-quite-rational ways that data can reflect and influence people’s attitudes, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors (e.g., how visualizing social inequality can reinforce inequality).
