Abstract:

This short paper presents an immersive multisensory system Digital Pure Land by integrating natural interaction technology and mixed reality (MR). Audiences can interact with the four scenarios, meditate, and experience Zen in this space. A pilot study was conducted during the offline exhibition. Preliminary results show that the system evokes their interest and participation and deepens their empathy with Zen and reflections on life. This innovative approach of combining MR, ICH, and UX enhances the accessibility of Zen, and it may open up a new mode of dissemination for traditional culture and other types of ICH.
