Abstract:
Three-dimensional moiré is a 3D display method in which periodic patterns are displayed with strong binocular parallax. The method is similar to integral photography in that it uses a combination of a fly’s eye lens and a synthesized image. Viewers can see full-parallax 3D images without wearing special glasses. Three-dimensional moiré has the advantage of having no visual “jump” because there is no boundary between elemental images. Now, 3D moiré patterns are mostly made using printing technology. I developed a system in which the image is created on an LCD instead of on paper so that the displayed image can be changed easily.
