    Who should attend?

    This course is for anyone interested in understanding the use of color in computer graphics.

    Recommended background

    This course is self-contained. Engineering mathematics (basic calculus and linear algebra) will be useful, but not essential.

    Course description

    This course will discuss the basics of color perception, with particular application to computer graphics. The course will be divided into three sections: introduction to the visual system and to colorimetry—when and why colors are the same: properties of color channels—low-level color processing in the visual system and color difference; color appearance and usage—high-level color processing.
