Abstract:

Discover how Image Engine simulated geometric crystals erupting from the floor in Avatar: The Last Airbender to capture the hero. Using custom Houdini tools, collision-aware systems, and physically inspired lighting, the team was able to integrate the plate and characters into beautiful final renders to relay the director’s vision.
