Abstract:
Existing digital human models approximate a human skeleton using rigid bodies connected by rotational joints. While the simplification is considered acceptable for legs, it lacks fidelity to model rich torso movements in many activities. We propose a new torso simulation model that achieves high fidelity both in perception and functionality.
