Description:

Because of its object-oriented nature, anatomy provides an excellent substrate for investigations into the editorial methodologies and software technologies needed to construct dynamic documents. The ElectricCadaver is a dynamic atlas of human structure and function linking photographic images of human gross anatomy and physiology with text and sounds. Integrated software tools permit users to reorganize its contents for presentations, tutorials, or testing. The project is also intended to serve as a model for the publication of dynamically-evolving electronic journals. After the public release of the ElectricCadaver, third-parties will be encouraged to submit modifications of its existing contents and new work of their own authorship for incorporation into subsequent releases.
