Description:
We present two novel, action-origami-inspired haptic devices: the Zipper Flower Tube simulates different stiffness sensations with a single actuator, and the Shifty simulates different shapes and surfaces with three small stepper motors. Our solution provides a high-fidelity, energy-efficient, and low-cost solution for interacting with virtual materials and objects in VR.
