PrintaColor’s family of TC1040 color ink jet printers combines both graphics and text printing capabilities with silent printing ideal for today’s office or workstation environmel)ts. The TC1040 system design was conceived with the ideal printer in mind: reliable, easy to use, flexible in application, and inexpensive.

    SIGGRAPH 1984

Since PrintaColor’s introduction of the first desktop color ink-jet printer in 1980, we have advanced ink-jet color technology to a high level of refinement, sophistication and reliability The PrintaColor TC10 40 has a unique color palette and a powerful vocabulary you can count on. Our color ink-jet system prints up to 120 dots per inch, deliver ng crisp and clear type fonts, graphics and images on a variety of media. Push button console, flexible media handle r and snap-in disposable cartridges make operation as easy as 1-2-3. And the TC1040’s fast-full image-seeking and bi-directional capabilities will print on 81⁄2″ x 11″ paper in just 1 1⁄2 minutes.

    SIGGRAPH 1983

The TC1040 supercedes PrintaColor’s previous printer line, greatly improving the color quality, resolution, speed and flexibility of operation. The TC1040 color printer can produce 4,913 different hues on various pinfeed media in user- selectable widths. The TC1040 employs a software-selectable lookup table to provide a convenient method of specifying the exact color shades to be used in its built-in ordered dithering pattern. Horizontally, the TC1040 prints either of two resolutions: 85 or 120 dots per inch; it prints vertically at a resolution of 85 dots per inch. Print time is dependent upon the amount of activity in the image since the unit has full image-seeking capability. The TC1040 interfaces via either a RS-232C or Centronicstype I/O port.
