Description:

For the 50th Anniversary of SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles, 6-10 August, 2023, the Pioneers asked their members to contribute videos of their earliest research and production work. Pioneers Chair Ed Kramer edited this four-hour compilation reel, which starts in the early 1960’s and goes all the way through 1993. This covers the years when graphics were viewed on tube TVs in the old 4:3 aspect ratio, before video changed to a digital and wider screen HD format. The Pioneers arranged to screen the video on a few still-functioning old tube TVs, for Siggraph attendees to remember the display technology of those early years.
