Nick England was CEO, co-founder, system architect, and circuit designer for the IKONAS Corporation, where he developed the world’s first GPGPU (General-purpose Graphics Processing Unit.) Ikonas was acquired by the Adage Corporation. Nick was founder and CEO of Trancept Systems Inc, where he developed graphics and imaging accelerator boards for Sun workstations. He also founded 3rdTech, Inc., where he managed development of graphics and imaging technology and sold advanced 3D and panoramic imaging systems for crime and accident scene investigation. He was a Research Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he did research in computer graphics and imaging architectures and did chip design for the PixelFlow massively parallel graphics machine. Now retired, Nick spends his time restoring and operating US Navy radio and teletype equipment.
