Artist Statement:

LBSkeleton (Listening Bio-Skeleton) is a robotic musical instrument, creating an alternative ambient display from a blend of pneumatic sound and magnificent shadows, and showing an emotional communication between audience and the kinetic sculpture in a soothing way. The sculpture is made of dense replicated foldable space truss studying the configuration of origami magic balls and mechanical techniques, to design a transformable body. This project explores a mutual interaction that happens between “the piper and the snake” ― LBSkeleton detects the presence of one or more persons in the space and reacts through a change of shape, sound, light, and gracefully enables the audience to immerse and control a harmonious and augmented musical environment through the body movement.
