Description:

The patellar reflex, a well known spinal reflex is induced by topping the tendon which causes a stimulation of muscle spindles resulting in afferent impulses evoking the discharge of the motor neurons in the spinal cord. This educational animation shows the mechanism of this reflex arc and the gamma loop. We are constantly taking on the challenge to construct on improved and more complex anatomical database.
