SIGGRAPH Pioneers Chair Ed Kramer introduces CGI futurist KEN PERLIN, the Pioneers Featured Speaker for 2022. Perlin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from NYU, and is director of the Future Reality Lab there. He is widely hailed as the creator of the Perlin Noise function, which helped early computer graphics achieve a new level of realism in rendering. He traces his personal journey from the very beginnings of computer graphics, and leaves the viewer with a vision of how society in the near future will be impacted by the coming of 6G technology and new developments in the field of Augmented Reality.
