Bio:

  • Yunzi Shi is a Bay Area-based installation artist and software engineer. Interweaving media archaeology, studio art, and computational photography, she is driven by the necessity to investigate and critique contemporary image culture from its technological and material basis. This leads to installations that unravel the digital imaging apparatus in physical space and include the spectators in an interactive discourse about digital content creation, manipulation, and consumption. Her artworks and research have been featured in CVPR, ICCP, International Architecture Biennale in Sao Paulo, etc. She holds an MS (Computer Science) from Dartmouth College and a BA (Architecture) from Princeton University.
