Yuewei Zhang is an XR developer, who graduated with a Bachelor of Software Engineering degree from the University of Auckland. He has extensive experience developing XR games for entertainment and research. He is currently based in the Empathic Computing Lab as a research engineer.

Yuewei is a VR game developer, hailing from the University of Auckland. He is enthusiastic about immersive technologies, entertainment, and entrepreneurship. His passion started from a young age through a natural curiosity of creating virtual worlds. As a capable developer, he has strong experience working on serious games for training and rehabilitation purposes, having contributed his technical expertise to many research projects. This is balanced by expertise in bringing ideas to products, having worked on commercial VR game titles and personal projects. In his spare time, he pursues his dream of starting a world class VR game studio with his team, Plectrum Software.

Yuewei Zhang is an XR developer and enthusiast who has been creating commercial VR games since 2016. He is currently studying at the University of Auckland as a 2nd-year undergraduate Software Engineering student. Yuewei aims to be at the forefront of developing virtual reality applications. He enjoys experimenting with creating interactive media only possible in XR, whether that be art, games, or research, and their empathic outcome. Areas he is working on at the moment include finding novel ways of incorporating storytelling, music, and creative programming into extended reality.
