About Xuanmiao Zhang

Bio

SIGGRAPH Asia 2023

Xuanmiao Zhang is currently an undergraduate at Beihang University’s School of New Media Arts & Design in Beijing, China. With a foundation in fine arts, she ventured into interaction design during her college years, igniting her passion for the intersection of art and technology. Her primary research interests lie in interaction design and intelligent performance. Xuanmiao is particularly dedicated to unraveling the depths of China’s intangible cultural heritage. She employs digital media technology to champion its preservation and propagation in this contemporary age. Her representative work, “NVSHU,” leverages virtual reality to recreate and delve into the ecological backdrop of NVSHU culture. This project accentuates the conservation of intangible cultural heritage by utilizing narrative interaction and VR character popularization. The ultimate goal of “NVSHU” is to boost experiential learning and heighten the sense of immersion and presence for its users.
