Bio:
Tianyu Yu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, advised by Prof. Lining Yao at the Morphing Matter Lab. He earned a B.Eng. in Automation, a B.F.A. in Product Design, and an M.F.A. in Information and Art Design from Tsinghua University. His research focuses on novel materials and hardware that enable unique interactivity beyond traditional computing devices, as well as computational design and fabrication technologies.
