Rong Wei earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Peking University and a B.Eng. in IC design from Xidian University. Her work spans 3D data processing and compression. During her Ph.D., she developed denoising and compression methods for low-SNR medical imaging. She later built a dynamic diffuse global-illumination encoding system. She subsequently led 3D Gaussian Splatting compression for mobile deployment and sparse-view completion via Stable Video Diffusion. Wei is now a Research Expert in Manycore Tech, focusing on 3D generation to improve effective sim-to-real transfer in robotics.
