Matt Hughes is a researcher, artist, programmer and musician whose works dive deep into the connection between sight and sound. Currently a PhD student at UTS’ Animal Logic Academy, Matt’s research explores the implementation and implications of using augmented reality (AR) in live electronic music performance. His work with Alon Ilsar for the AirSticks won the ‘Best Instrument’ and ‘Best Performance’ people’s choice awards at the 2019 Guthman New Musical Instrument competition at Georgia Tech.
