SIGGRAPH Asia 2025

Kakuya Shiraishi (b. 1995) is a programmer and media artist based in Japan. He completed studies in Electronic and Information Engineering at Gunma National College of Technology, earned a degree in Information Design from Tama Art University, and received an M.A. in Media Expression from the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS). Centering his practice on dynamic, real-time systems built with custom software rather than off-the-shelf tools, he develops work across video, music videos, VJ performance, interactive installations, and live audiovisual performance—approaching creation from the system level through implementation. He also explores human–AI collaboration through live-coded sound, and performs as the audiovisual unit “Ai.step” with Scott Allen.
