Haldean Brown is a software engineer in Pixar’s Tools department, focusing on novel animation systems and workflows. He has been at Pixar for 5 years; prior to that, he was a technical director and animator at Symmetry Labs. Recent film credits include Pixar’s “Inside Out 2”, “Elemental” and “Turning Red”, as well as the independent films “Buzz”, “Break Break” and “Pete”, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short. He grew up in Ely, Minnesota and Antwerp, Belgium, studied theater and computer graphics at Columbia University, and now lives in Oakland, CA
