D. L. (Debbie) Deas was the first employee at Digital Effects, the first 3D computer animation company in New York City, where she worked on the groundbreaking 1982 Disney film, TRON. From 1985-1988 and 2005-2019, she was employed at Intelligent Light, where she managed a virtual reality laboratory and was on a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) visualization software development team. She is also an accomplished flamenco dancer and an independent multi-media performance artist.
