Ash Eliza Smith is an artist, designer, and educator who uses storytelling and speculative design to rehearse new realities. Her work spans cinema, theater, games, live-action role plays, and extended reality. Smith designs worlds, scenarios, and interactive narratives that reimagine past, present, and futures. Smith is an Associate Professor at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she leads projects in XR storytelling and ArtScience through the Speculative Devices Lab. Smith is also a visiting fellow at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, in the MA Narrative Environments program.
