Cinematics sit at the cross-section of film, games, and animation. But… what exactly IS a cinematic?
A short, a marketing trailer, a story-telling device, in-game? Real-time or pre-rendered? What tools and other similarities do cinematics share with other mediums? How can you prove your ability and fit for gaming jobs with only linear media experience?
Some of the founders of the Society for Game Cinematics will facilitate group discussion about the opportunities for cinematics in today’s industry, traversing different pipelines and entertainment industries, ways of crossing over between film and games, and the challenges of defining a cinematic!
