Art Plunge is a virtual reality experience where you can get the feeling of being transported into the inner worlds of famous paintings. We have created VR interpretations of works like Mona Lisa, Starry Night, the Birth of Venus and the Creation of Adam. In this project, we explore the concept of what a painting could be in VR, and how different boundaries are blurred in the process. Boundaries between our interpretation and the original painting, between technology and artistry and between now and then. We faithfully create the elements of the paintings in 3D with subtle animation and sound. We also design continuations of the scenes (what would be outside the painting frame). This way you can be completely immersed in the world of the painting. Art Plunge is not about making the painting realistic or recreating the historical scene in which the painting was created. It’s about bringing the inner world of the painting to life in a magical way.
