Verticom, Inc. designs and manufactures high performance graphics controllers and displays for IBM Personal Computers. Verticom’s latest products, two plug-in, high speed controllers, draw images at 1,000,000 pixels per second, three to ten times faster than competitive products. The M-16 and M-256 controllers provide 16 and 256 colors respectively, from a palette of 4,096. The high speed drawing capability is generated by Verticom’s proprietary, two-micron CMOS graphic controller chip set with an on-board Motorola 68000 CPU.
