Houston Instrument manufactures input and output devices for computer graphics, including: automatic optical scanning device and digitizing tablets for inputting graphics; low-cost pen plotters for outputting computer assisted drafting and business graphics.
SIGGRAPH 1987
Houston Instrument will show several products from its line of intelligent pen plotters and graphics digitizers. The SCAN-CAD™ Plotter Accessory, an option to the company’s line of low-cost, high-performance DMP-50 Series drafting plotters, allows the plotters to serve as both input and output devices.
SIGGRAPH 1986
Houston Instrument will demonstrate the new A to E size DMP-56 professional drafting plotter. The DMP-56 will handle 18 different media sizes ranging from 8.5″ x 11″ to 36″ x 48″ and features a resolution of .001″ and a maximum plotting speed of 17 inches-per-second. Houston Instrument also will show several of the TRUE GRID™ Series Digitizers, its A and B size four-pen PC Plotter and eight-pen DMP-29, the C and D size DMP-52, and 14-pen DMP-52MP.
SIGGRAPH 1985
Houston Instrument is a 26-year Texas-based veteran of the computer graphics peripherals industry. We manufacture a complete line of digital plotters and graphic digitizers used in business graphics as well as architectural and engineering applications. Houston Instrument will exhibit the new 14-pen DMP-51 /52 MP Series precision drafting plotters at SIGGRAPH.
SIGGRAPH 1984
Houston Instrument will display plotters and digitizers which are compatible with over 175 graphics software packages for micro, mini, and mainframe computers. Applications include business, engineering, architecture and mechanical drafting. The new DMP-51 C&D size plotter features a speed of 22 ips, 4G and .001″ resolution. HI will also display these plotters: C&D size DMP-41; E-size CPS-19; eight-pen DMP-29 and compact DMP-40 for up to 11″ x 17″ graphics; and the 11″ x 11″ Hipad digitizer and the large Series 7000 digitizer.
SIGGRAPH 1979
Houston Instrument will display its COMPLOT line of Incremental Plotters which include pen plotters ranging from small 11″ x 17″ flatbed plotters to 44″ wide three-pen drum plotters. COMPLOTs electrostatic products, also to be displayed, consist of high speed line printers, plotter/ printers, and CRT hardcopiers. Hi’s Micrographic Line will present its products designed specifically for personal computing: the HI PLOT digital plotter and the HI PAD digitizing tablet.
