    SIGGRAPH 1987

Benson’s 30-year experience in digital plotting technology continues. Color and monochrome electrostatic plotters, with their built-in controllers, have established definitive benchmarks in speed, quality and reliability. The singlepass Color Electrostatic System, for example, can produce complex E-size drawings in less than four minutes. Color and monochrome thermal transfer plotters combine high-resolution and easy usage with low cost to provide a solution for any application.

    SIGGRAPH 1979

Benson-Varian will display their new pen plotter product line, as well as the 9236, a 36″ electrostatic with the revolutionary Quadrascan® writing head. The pen plotter product line and the 9236 were first introduced in June, 1979. Also shown will be Graphware 1000, a new line of control-store micro- processors, which provide increased graphic through-put by off-loading vector sort and rasterizing from the user’s IBM or plug-compatible mainframe, and Graphware I, which is firmware that converts sorted or unsorted vector data into raster format, freeing the user’s mini-computer from that process.
