The Applicon Color Plotter is a unique system for making full color plots from digital data. The system consists of an off-line ink-jet plotter with magnetic tape unit, together with an extensive set of FORTRAN subroutines for processing data on the user’s host computer. Application packages for mapping, charting, and 3D display are available. The COLOR software system automatically converts the user’s commands into raster format for output to the Color Plotter. Graphics up to 22 x 34 inches in size in a full range of seven solid colors ( including black) and over 15,000 shades can be produced on the Color Plotting System at a resolution of 125 points per inch. The added dimension provided by color identification enhances a wide variety of complex computer graphics applictions, including contour mapping, scientific and business charting, and electronic circuit checkplotting. Satellite image classification, aerial surveying, seismic analysis, and hard copy of video displays are additional for the system.
