Artist Statement:
How to Find the Soul of a Sailor is an immersive audio/visual artwork about the future of the oceans told from the perspective of the artist’s late father. A sailor of many years, he left a number of journals from his travels as an officer in the Merchant Navy. Collaborating with The New Real Observatory Platform AI tools, Molga used these journals as small data sets to create future stories in the voice of her Dad. This work is a new take on marine art, and also touches upon digital afterlife.
