This animation was rendered using the method described in the SIGGRAPH 96 paper enti-tled,“Hierarchical Polygon Tiling with Coverage Masks. ”Hierarchical polygon tiling renders enormously complex models, such as this video’s 167-million-polygon model of the Empire State Building, in only a few minutes per frame.
