An astronomer who specializes in cinematic scientific visualizations, Dr. Frank Summers calls himself an “astrovizicist”. As leader of the AstroViz project of NASA’s Universe of Learning, he directs a team transforming research astronomy images and data into awe-inspiring and insightful short films for lifelong learners. Past work includes four IMAX films, numerous documentaries, and more than 50 astronomy visualization sequences based on observations of the Hubble and Webb Space Telescopes.
