About Serge de Laubier

SIGGRAPH 2025

Composer, researcher, and musician, Serge de Laubier founded PUCE MUSE, with which he co-invented the Octophonic Spatial Processor (patent no. 8600153). He is also the designer of the Meta-Instrument and the author of the MIDI Formers software (© INA-GRM), which won first prize at the 1996 Bourges International Music Software Competition. He has received several awards, including the 1992 FAUST d’OR, the Grand Prix at the 1994 Locarno Video Art Festival, first prize for composition at the 1995 Bourges International Competition, and the Special Jury Prize at SATIS 2001. His latest creations closely combine music, images, and new technologies. They often have an event-oriented and monumental character. They have been performed in prestigious settings such as: Nuit Blanche 2016, the Rugby World Cup 2011, Chalon dans la rue 2011, Transitarte 2009 in San José Costa Rica, Bains Numériques 2008 in Enghien-les-Bains, Aurillac International Street Festival 2007, Mediterranean Games in Almeria 2006, for the year of physics 2005, etc.
